These terms apply to your purchase and use of Survey Validator (the "Service"). They are written in plain English and intentionally short. Please read them before purchasing.
For $39.99 USD, you receive one PIN granting access to validate one survey through the Service. A "survey" is identified by the content of its question text (a SHA-256 hash of normalized question text). Re-validating, applying AI revisions, and running structural revisions on the same survey are all unlimited and free. Only validation of a meaningfully different set of questions deducts an additional credit (and requires a separate purchase or top-up).
The PIN's one-survey quota is enforced by hash-based deduplication. Unused credits are tied to the PIN and may be refunded within 30 days of purchase if the PIN has not been used for any survey.
Each PIN includes a usage cap on the underlying AI provider costs (Anthropic Claude Opus 4.7 and OpenAI GPT-5.5 API calls): currently $10 USD per PIN in cumulative AI-provider spend. This typically covers a full iteration cycle on one survey (validate → AI revision → structural revision → apply → re-validate) with room for a second pass if needed. When the cap is reached on a PIN, the Service pauses further validation runs on that PIN. To continue iterating on the same survey, purchase additional access at $39.99 USD via the same email — the new credit tops up the existing PIN automatically.
We disclose this cap here, on the buy page (in summary form), and in the in-app notification that appears when the cap is reached. The cap exists to keep the Service economically sustainable for all customers; without it, a single user could consume unlimited AI compute on one credit.
The Service analyses your survey across ten independent validation checks (bias, readability, item independence, scale alignment, construct coverage, reliability simulation, inter-rater consensus, and others). It produces a structured score, an AI-revised version of your survey, optional structural revisions you approve item by item, and a Word (.docx) export with a methodology appendix. It does not:
Output should be reviewed by you before deployment. The Service is a tool, not a methodologist of record. Decisions you make from data collected via your survey remain your responsibility.

You agree not to share, resell, or redistribute your PIN. The PIN is for your individual use for the survey it grants access to.
Refunds are issued within 30 days of purchase if the PIN has not been used (no surveys validated). After any survey validation, refunds are not available. Before purchasing, please review the What it catches section, the FAQ, and the privacy statement to confirm the Service fits your needs.
Exception: if a technical fault on our side prevents you from completing your validation, contact [email protected] within seven days of purchase and we will issue a full refund or replacement PIN at our discretion.

The Service produces a structured validation report, an AI-revised version of your survey, and optional structural revisions — tools to accelerate your design work, not a substitute for your own review or for a survey methodologist's judgment. Review the output before deploying the survey.
Our financial responsibility for any issue with the Service is capped at the $39.99 USD you paid for the PIN. Outcomes downstream of the Service — response rates, the quality of decisions made from your collected data, business or research outcomes — sit outside that cap.
We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uptime. The Service depends on third-party providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Posit/ shinyapps.io, Cloudflare, Google, Stripe), any of which may experience outages. PINs remain valid for 365 days from purchase. Unused credits after 365 days are forfeited. To extend, pay $39.99 with the same email — a new credit is added to your existing PIN automatically and the 365-day window resets from the top-up date.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada. Disputes will be heard in the courts of Ontario.
